Type locality: PN Upemba, Mubale, R., DRC

Diagnosis

Male can be identified by combination of (1) found only in Katanga; (2) face without any blue and largely dark except for 2 contrasting whitish spots on black labrum; (3) tibiae all black, although sometimes with whitish pruinosity; (4) Abd all red; (5) black markings S2 lie near apical border, not extending to base. Habitat description

Streams, but possibly also headwaters, shaded by gallery forest, but possibly also in open landscapes. Probably often with blackwater, submerged roots, dead trunks or branches, coarse detritus and/or a sandy bottom. From 1100 to 1800 m above sea level.
