Type locality: Langenburg, Tanzania

Diagnosis

Male differs from other Zygonoides by (1) ranging from Kenya to Namibia and South Africa; (2) relatively smaller size, Hw 38-41 mm; (3) eyes bluish rather than green in life; (4) S3 dark with pale spots, with white pruinosity with maturity; (5) Hw base dark brown; (6) pale central band on S7 widest laterally. Habitat description

Mostly rivers, but also streams and large lakes, in open landscapes or shaded by gallery forest. Especially faster sections (rapids, falls), often with rocks. From 0 to 1500 m above sea level, but mostly below 1100, although possibly up to 2100.
