No diagnosis of this distinctive species nearest C. cancellata and C. curta in general appearance is presently available. Please refer to the references provided.

Habitat description

Streams shaded by forest, but possibly also in open areas. Mostly with a sandy bottom and probably often submerged roots, dead trunks or branches, and/or coarse detritus. From 400 to 700 m above sea level.
